SYNTHETIC OIL SERVICE
Changing your Vehicles oil is the maintenance item recommened the most by service professionals. Oil, after time will break down and lose its lubricating properties, thus causing more wear on the mechanical components of an engine. At Bimmer Tek we use high grade Synthetic Oil that will protect your vehicle's engine from abnormal wear.
COOLING SYSTEM FLUSH
Changing your coolant ensures that your vehicles cooling system will function adequately. Coolant much like oil will lose its function over time. Coolant serves many functions such as but not limited to:
- Cooling the Engine
- Lubricating the Engines Water Pump
- Reducing Corrosion in the Cooling System
- Heating the Vehicles Interior
- Prevents the Water Content from Freezing
Changing the coolant at specified maintenance intervals will greatly reduce the stresses on the water pump, thermostats, hoses, and other key components of the cooling system. Bimmer Tek recommends changing a vehicles coolant every 24,000KM or 2 years unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer.
TRANSMISSION FLUID FLUSH
Transmission Fluid is often an overlooked maintenance item, which if serviced at regular intervals could significantly extend the life of a transmission. Not regularly servicing your transmission's fluid is the most common reason for transmission failure. Over time the fluid begins to collect particles that have worn off the components in the transmission. These particles cause the fluid to thicken and plug the filter and heat exchanger thus reducing its ability to properly circulate. Poor circulation causes the fluid to oxidize, which in turn breaks down the fluid further, ultimately resulting in catastrophic transmission failure. Regularly serviced fluids have high detergent characteristics that clean the components of the transmission and prevent the heat exchanger and small orifices from plugging. Bimmer Tek recommends flushing the transmission fluid every 24,000KM or 2 years unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer.
**NOTE**
It is not recommended to flush a transmission that has not been serviced regularly. New fluid has a high level of detergent that could potentially cause large oxidized particles to become dislodged and plug critical fluid passages. This potentially could constrict fluid flow and cause catastrophic failure of the transmission.
***Bimmer Tek recommends that the transmission fluid NOT be changed if the transmission has gone 180,000KM without a flush!
BRAKE FLUID FLUSH
Brake fluid flushes restore braking effectiveness while at the same time restore pedal firmness. Over time brake fluid absorbs water from moisture in the braking system. The moisture absorbed greatly reduces the braking effectiveness, which commonly results in a soft brake pedal and longer time needed to come to a complete stop. Bimmer Tek recommends flushing the brake fluid every 24,000KM or 2 years unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer.
